No, WSL (Windows With Fake 'Linux') Isn't Growing Faster Than Ubuntu, This Was Disinformation Spread by a Microsoft Propaganda Site, Then Spread by Slopfarms
We did not write about this until now as we were sceptical, seeing a Microsoft liar called "Abhijith M B" making false claims 2-3 days ago, then seeing many slopfarms and gullible sites like It's FOSS and Notebook Check (also many Indian slopfarms) repeating the same lie without properly checking the alleged sources.
SJVN checked with the person alleged to be quoted and/or paraphrased and he denied saying what had been "reported".
We don't want to repeat the lies, for obvious reasons, but instead we wish to say that GNU/Linux "proper" and "native" and "freedom-respecting" is growing... whereas the "WSL" (Windows, back doors, proprietary, E.E.E.) card lost momentum about 4 years ago and many of those who had built it vanished. The most vocal pushers/proponents of it have in fact quit IT altogether. No need to name them. Some of them trolled us in IRC; one of them (name starts with "B") even used sockpuppet accounts because he was affiliated with Microsoft while organising WSL "events", then trying to invite us to these (to quell criticism).
Be sceptical; Microsoft is truly desperate for anti-Linux spin right now, seeing that Windows is in a freefall. █
