Another Round of GAFAM Layoffs, This Time Apple
Hours ago (citing a report by Bloomberg, which has a paywall): Apple to cut more than 200 jobs in major reshuffle of Siri AI, Vision Pro teams
The "Vision Pro" was an utter disaster, prices of Apple gear have gone up considerably, and there are many failures the company does not "broadcast" (i.e. talks about). It hopes they will just quietly go away, mostly unnoticed except in "margins" of "the media"...
Due to layoffs that Apple acknowledges (for a change), the 'GAFAM' creaks' are showing; typically, companies shuffle people around to avoid the negative perception of job insecurity.
Apple is just another GAFAM company. It also spies similarly. Remember what Edward Snowden showed in leaks about PRISM; forget about recent marketing ads by Apple. The company opposes privacy.
Had Apple valued privacy, it would not create gadgets like "Vision Pro".
Now Apple "is shutting down an entire Vision Pro team focused on developing gaming features for the mixed-reality headset." █
