PIPs at IBMs are Layoffs Because They're Impossible to Satisfy (or They Terminate Workers Despite Satisfying Them)
What insiders say
"Final day of PIP today [IBM US]" got reported some hours ago and "they said i will get paid till 15th then get 1 months severance..."
Today, a Friday, we see loads of people leaving (as usual) and announcing it in social control media. In the above thread there are noteworthy comments, as assume from fellow IBMers.

This seems to illuminate the scale/scope of this problem and the magnitude of the proportion laid off after being placed on a PIP (or made to resign, which means the same sans severance).
You would not envy Confluent or Red Hat staff right now. Like the above says, the writings are on the wall.
IBM wants staff cuts without 1) severance 2) WARN notices 3) shareholders finding out and panicking (impact on stock). █
