Alleged Manager at IBM Says "[t]here are likely to be a lot (and I meant, A LOT) of RAs before December."
"We’re getting pressure from above to put some team members on PIPs."
It has long been said that about 15% of the staff at IBM was marked as "low performing" (even if that's untrue; it's a quota game). That's about 40,000 workers. If IBM is "Eliminating Over 20,000 IBM Workers by Year's End" it'll start with a wave of PIPs, followed by a November escalation like last year.
This is the message many upvote and reply to this week:
Second-line manager here. We’re getting pressure from above to put some team members on PIPs.
There are likely to be a lot (and I meant, A LOT) of RAs before December.
Stay safe, guys.
Unverified but plausible.
Also, all the early comments focus on offshoring, whereas the latest points a finger at Ginni, who shalt not be criticised in that site!

IBM is nowadays doing a lot of silent layoffs, just like Microsoft. You're not likely to read or hear about that due to the silent nature, which has long extended to illegal NDAs. █
