9/11 Was a National Event, Not an International Event

"I don’t want a back door. I want a front door." - Director of the National Security Agency (NSA), April 2015
25 years ago, shortly after leaving a plane, I learned about 9/11. The term, "nine eleven", became more commonly used than "nine one one", at least outside the US (here it is "nine nine nine").
The term "nine eleven" became a loaded term, a political catchphrase, even a blueprint. There was another "nine eleven" - the one in Chile over 50 years ago. Almost nobody knows anything about it anymore.
In the context of tech, "nine eleven" means back doors are not just OK but also "necessary". They insist that back doors will "save lives". They muzzle or discredit those who do not agree. They try to shut down their sites/operations.
We don't need to share that belief/sentiment just because the US insists on it. █
