Microsoft will shut down (XBox) after shrinking it, there's no need to sell anything (a straw man)
A Microsoft puff piece in the NYT has people taking about "sale" or "no sale" rather than deliberate destruction (piecewise shutdown) of XBox. Today's headlines speak of "post-launch layoffs" and "Layoffs After Game's Release", which is Microsoft's way of saying "thank you and goodbye."
Microsoft will try to squeeze XBox for any remaining money that might be in it. With sales of the console node-diving, there's no way to turn things around. █
