What's that sound?
Hospitals. Places of recovery and rest, where the sick can recuperate through somnolent slumber.
Yeah, right.
It is very hard to get a good night’s sleep in hospital. There are constant emergencies going on around the ward. (Worse for those having the emergencies, for sure.) There are the constant beeps on pumps and blood-pressure monitors and saturation-level meters crashing and call bells and emergency alarms.

A further health update...
As many of you know, I am currently in hospital. This is a factual rundown of how I got here, what’s been tried, and what the next steps are in the treatment of my current illness.
Please do feel free to skip the background section and hit the current info at the bottom if you so wish. But I thought it was worth also setting out exactly what’s happened over many years. That might come off as a little self-indulgent. But it helps to have a document with all the info at which to point friends and colleagues.

ego flashes, pangs of deja vu, memory is hurting me now
it is rather unbelievable how far things have managed to come ...
it seems that time stops and waits for no-one. even in spite of my aphasic anhedonic apathetic fentanyl faze.
9 years now.
i miss being a Part of Something Greater than Me.

apotris is my new favorite way to play tetris
For years my favorite way to play Tetris was the NES version. That version is being used in the Classic Tetris World Championship. I've watched a lot of their livestreams, so I wanted the same familiar look and feel when playing myself. I'm not very good at Tetris. I don't strive for world championship levels of skill. I just like playing the game.

Sunday Type
Trying out the 24/7 Type&Talk (Typepals.com), but apparently it is too early in the U.S. for anyone to join. Majority of the members there are located in the U.S., and probably this all-day, all-week event doesn't draw too much at-tension, unlike the special events like the monthly "Postcard exchange" for example.
Actually I'm still waiting for my postcard to arrive, but nowadays it takes a good two weeks to cross the atlantic, so I'll be patient. It seems that in Denmark there is no more regular postal service. Mail from abroad is being delivered by some private company, and to send Mail from Denmark is absurdely costly. Still I am intrigued by this fact to type a letter or postcard to someone in Denmark and see what happens. We should all find someone in Denmark and write lots of traditional (typed) mail...

"But it's never not worked before!?!"
I've lived in my current house for almost 6 years. That entire time, I've been lucky to have a 1 Gbps fiber optic internet connection. And for that entire time, my IP address has been the same.
[...]
Exactly 1 day after I had left on a 2 week international business trip, with no easy way to connect back into my systems remotely.
So I've updated the DNS records and the services are working, but I have a nagging feeling.
