Linux is Not Controlled by Linus (Torvalds)
Torvalds has become "90% marketing hype"

So Mr. Torvalds has decided to respond to our assertion that Linux, the kernel, has become LLM slop or is fast becoming that (we won't know for what purpose and we no longer know to what extent; there's no longer a requirement to flag slop as such).
Torvalds, an employee of the Linux Foundation (which is a misnomer, as it's hardly about Linux any longer; only 2 or 3 percent of its total budget is devoted to Linux), relies on a PR operative of the Linux Foundation (LF) to 'rebut' our assertion. It was published in The Register MS, which is controlled by a longtime Microsoft operative (M.R.). The one preceding M.R. at The Register MS spoke to me 2 years ago. We spoke about conflicts of interest, also in relation to SJVN. Nowhere in this article is this type of disclosure presented. It was clearly face-saving "LF" PR or shadowing for "LF" (for "PR" or "damage limitation" purposes).
Our response to that is that Torvalds is clearly no longer in control of Linux, even if Torvalds feels like he is. All the big and important decisions are ultimately made by the biggest sponsors of his employer. We saw that rather clearly half a decade ago when he was successfully pressured into accepting Rust in the kernel. █
