Tough Times for Invidious and Odysee (LBRY Protocol)

A month ago: There is No Such Thing as 'Cryptocurrency' and Please Stop Referring to It as Cryptocurrency

Merkel to LBRY: Das wird Verboten!
Merkel versus Merkle

Summary: With LBRY down for the count (it's over basically) it seems rather unclear what will happen to video platforms on the World Wide Web and beyond; it's time to self-host (almost) everything

MAYBE it was only a matter of time...

So LBRY is going to be shutting down soon. The SEC ruled against it and LBRY's team publicly announced that it would cease to operate. It's not clear what that means to Odysee and with Invidious already besieged it means that suddenly... self-hosting videos seems like a good choice*. PeerTube is OK, but it's only effective for videos that have many simultaneous viewers.

Odysee's status is unclear. Days ago they wrote a cryptic tweet:

REBIRTH COMING SOON... 🐄

The most widely used instance of Invidious is offline again. Here's what it looks like right now:

Invidious error 502

I started seeing it like this only about an hour ago. It partly recovered earlier this month. Does the new host give more hassle? ______ * Google Video Search indexes Techrights and lists its videos that are all self-hosted. So video discovery isn't impossible.
