The headline sounds rather like ‘Australian Taxation Office’ which is the federal tax office, and a quite separate org.

Govt orgs are notoriously bad at selecting IT – mostly it is based on middle managers’ free tickets to the rugby or corporate boxes at a street-circuit car race.

It does seem a rather risky cost-cutting exercise however you look at it.
