Bonum Certa Men Certa

A BIT Worrying Where the EPO is Going...

Video download link

Summary: Clowns running the show at the EPO, which cannot get the very basics right on the face of it

DUE to an epidemic of nepotism, today's EPO is run by cheap politicians like Benoît Battistelli's friends and former colleagues of António Campinos, a politician's son. The institution is run by clueless people who can't tell how software works (no wonder they push European software patents, having never bothered listening to actual software professionals).

"Granting lots and lots patents isn’t really the goal of patent offices."There's growing concern that the EPO is going down the drain due to lack of proper leadership or management. Granting lots and lots patents isn't really the goal of patent offices. If many are improperly being granted (invalid or bogus or fake patents), stakeholders will walk way, in due course. False 'trophies' are too expensive to be worth it.

The video above deals with a document we published this morning. It has struck a nerve; people who name-drop buzzwords and lack an actual understanding of what they're entrusted to govern ultimately doom everything. They seed destruction.
