I brought my 2008 Buick Lacrosse in for a new car battery and he upsold me a second key and a remote and I figured "Why not? I did only get one when I bought it." which is actually quite common on older cars where grandma forgot where she put her keys.

This car is in exceptional condition for its age and so clean you can eat off of it, however Bhushan Chouhan, the owner, blamed my car when his key (defective, per Anthony Buick, where I had to go get the work redone correctly) stopped working.

The Buick dealer today told me that Batteries Plus sells junk car keys and that whoever cut it didn't even cut the physical part correctly, and the transponder inside was not accepting the coding correctly. It would work for a minute or two and then the car would forget it because it's a non-genuine key. Aftermarket crap.

When I had Anthony Buick make me a key, the key worked, and continues to work fine. I also had to have them give me a remote control that works because Mr. Chouhan at Batteries Plus went further when trying to correct his key that didn't work, and deauthorized my remote in the process, so I had to pay Buick $168 today. Should have gone there to begin with.

I hope that the warranty is honored at their other stores if I have to use it, because Mr. Chouhan does not accept responsibility for his work and find time (even though he doesn't seem to have very many customers while I was there) to make things right, and also refused to issue a full refund for his insufficiently operable generic products. Sometimes the seals go bad on the gas cap. If your gas cap light is on, you'll fail emissions and it's a really dumb reason to fail.
