Overworking Kills
While we're focused on this theme or difficult topic (in relation to the EPO or Debian), consider this clip from 6 years ago.
When people die productivity sinks to zero in perpetuity.
Over the next few days we'll have more material related to this and over the past few days we shared articles 1.5 years old from Daniel Pocock, who spoke about these issues and showed evidence of overworking in Debian (sometimes with fatal consequences).
In the case of the EPO, 7 years ago we explained that almost half the employees suffer from Upper Limb Disorder (ULD) [1, 2].
Computer breaks are very important to one's health, even if they're wrongly perceived as an impediment to concentration, flow, and productivity. Sadly, many employers deny their workers a much-needed break except at particular times (e.g. lunch break) rather than whatever people's bodies demand at particular times. The body usually (but not always) knows best.
