Distractions. Distractions Everywhere.

There's no denying that Microsoft Office is in a rather bad shape because now, unlike in the late 90s, many people do not use and don't need to use it. Helped by paid spam from IDG (former media company taken over by China to spew out spam), Microsoft has been promoting the "Sunk Cost Fallacy" and this latest example was entitled: "Forget Microsoft 365—this is the cheapest way to get Office apps on your PC"

An associate has called that one of several (we showed other examples) "crap advertisements dressed as articles," stating that they "pointedly fail to mention Calligra or LibreOffice because that would lead to application independence and that in turn would lead to platform independence and software freedom..."

It comes from the "DealPost Team":

That goes well with SEO SPAM, LLM slop, and other menaces that overwhelm the Web.

The above may show up in many search results, distracting from the real solution/s.

Google: 'the cheapest way to get Office apps on your PC'

Speaking of things that keep distracting from the real solution, we've not heard from or seen anything from OIN for a long time. "OIN is not even a shakedown," the associate asserts, "it helps nothing against NPEs."

In the past I spoke to OIN and some patent trolls. I saw how they interacted. The CEO of OIN was absolutely useless! They don't seem to be doing anything! All they do is distract from the real solution, namely patent reform that culls all software patents.

As the associate has put it: "It's just an expensive distraction from the real problem."

Yes, but many people fall for it.
