Apparently Confirmed: IBM Layoffs in Canada Today, Hundreds Affected
Impacting "177 people", says one person, "in Ottawa"
This morning we wrote about rumours of IBM layoffs being impending and even imminent in Canada. We researched trusted/formal sites on the Web for a bit and then said, "later today some people from Canada will say something firmer and maybe some media will even talk about that."
That "something firmer" is arriving now that people in Ontario are at the office: (around 10AM)

At this moment in time we cannot find any press/blog post/media site covering this. Some sites do, however, mention what James Kavanaugh (IBM's CFO/beancounter) calls "workforce rebalancing".
Kavanaugh receives an A+ for euphemisms. Some insiders call it "carnage" or "bloodbath". Some use ethnic slurs and stereotypes. β
