Slopfarm Catastrophe

You know something...?
Seems like BetaNews (or BetaNoise) has just suffered a major data loss and restored the site from a week-old backup! Imagine all the LLM slop that got lost, maybe forever, maybe temporarily.
We've meanwhile noticed that LinuxSecurity, a slopfarm, targets "Linux" again (as usual). Another slopfarm, powered by LLM junk (which they call "AI"), spews out some 'article' about "AI":
And its sister slopfarm:
Notice that in both (the above) not only is the text fake but also the images. They're slop.
We have meanwhile learned that https://cybershow.uk moved to a different server. The migration caused about 2 days of downtime and the site is back online now. A year ago Dr. Andy Farnell explained why they turned down slop images. After some initial hype people are starting to realise it's a passing fad that hurts artists; another lawsuit against companies that do slop images has just been lodged, set aside older cases that are progressing. The same is true for LLM slop and slop 'code' (plagiarism), as we'll cover later today. Background below. █
