The Register MS (Situation Publishing) is Paid to Spread Mindless Hype for the "Hey Hi" Ponzi Scheme and That's a Serious Problem
Today The Register MS published another one of those "Sponsored Posts". The large majority of these serve no purpose other than inflating a bubble and pumping before the eventual dumping. Here it is:
At the bottom it says: "Sponsored by Zoom."
The term "AI" appears in this fake article thirteen times! Keyword stuffing? SEO SPAM?
Nice "journalism" there, The Register MS.
As we explained last week, it's not only The Register MS participating and looking to gain from this Ponzi scheme. Moreover, The Register MS attacks journalism by doing this. They even poo on past journalism by trying to distort/rewrite history.
LLMs aren't "AI" and portraying them as intelligence leaves people misled and disillusioned (eventually).
Today I searched for Linux stuff in Google News and this is what I got:
100% LLM slop with slop images from fake authors. Written by Michael Larabel, the original gets plagiarised by a slopfarm. Google then sends traffic to the plagiarism, hence encouraging more plagiarism.
Slop about slop:
This is the kind of stuff The Register MS helps hype up.
The Register MS hurts its own credibility by taking this Ponzi scheme money; we've already caught The Register MS apparently publishing some LLM slop of its own, i.e. fake articles made by bots. It can only go downhill from there. █
