The Year of the Bubble
Hours ago:
Last night: Sounds Like Microsoft 'Open' 'AI' (Slop) Ran Out of Money to Borrow
Yesterday morning: 2025: The Year LLM Slop Rose to Prominence and Then Fell
"Blockchains" were a thing around the lock-downs (COVID-19) and they prevailed in news headlines for no obvious reason/s. IBM kept presenting itself as a leader in that.
Not much has changed, except the words and duration (or durability) of the hype.
When it comes to slop, or tables that are very large and help spew out words/tokens based on probabilities, their use cases aren't being found. From 2 days ago: The Reality is "Vibe Code" (Slop) is That It's Worthless
As for CG disguised or rebranded as "AI", that's an entirely different thing and people are getting fed up with it too.
We hope that in 2026 the marketing liars will find some new buzzwords to latch onto and quit calling everything "AI". Remember when they called almost everything "IoT" and servers/services were sold as "Serverless"? Not too long before the "Blockchain" hype. █
