IBM's Fall

The morale at IBM is bad and people who lost their jobs there talk about it*. Some are unable to find something else and some recall** how things were getting worse. Or why.
Pay careful attention. This might be a simple explanation of things going very wrong, as it sounds like what ended up happening in the Albany facility [1, 2] (posers, cheaters and liars promoted).
Once upon a time IBM was a very potent company that attracted all the brightest engineers (or Computer Scientists) all around the world. It did not need to lie about products that do not exist or merely "milk the brand" to sound legitimate.
When SCO sued IBM and Novell more than 2 decades ago IBM still had the resources to fight back. That's good because Linux (the kernel) needed it.
Now?
Look what IBM is doing to Fedora, to people who oppose corruption and so on.
I grew up respecting IBM. Several decades later the company seems like a circus with a glorified brand, so arrogant and deluded, run by people who fantasise about slop and try to fake performance instead of actually achieving real performance.
IBM's complete control of Red Hat (after bluewashing there's no denying that Red Hat lacks any real autonomy) is very troubling. IBM's fate is closely connected to that of the Free software movement because of the salaries. █
