20 Years and 43 Years
This site began later in the day on November 7th, 2006. Last night (starting a break) it was exactly 3 months before the 20-year anniversary. This month we'll catch a bit with longstanding backlogs, such as those pertaining to behind-the-scenes RMS stories, some pertaining to his more recent public talks.
GNU/Linux has earned a lot of good press lately, mostly because it's hard to "diss" (or dismiss) it as some "dork thing" that nobody uses and/or nobody can use.
Next month this system turns 43 (ignore the noise from the so-called 'Linux' Foundation, it's revisionism, the first combination of GNU and Linux will be 35 years old in 2027) and it's not hard to see why it caught on. It's also not hard to see why it has come under so many different attacks and different forms of resistance.
GNU/Linux is not just code, it's a philosophy, licence (copyleft), and community. █
