Google Search Has Gotten Worse (a Lot Worse)
This week and last week we were talking in IRC about how Google the search engine (the "original thing") was getting worse (there's widespread consensus about that). There are two possibilities: it's corroded by neglect; or it's corroded by intentional neglect (a form of sabotage or self-impairment, the opposite of self-improvement).
Another theory is, Google wants to sell sloppy slop (it helps it justify epic debt and further massive borrowings). So it presumably wants to repel or deter people away from search results. It has even called its slop "Gemini" - a move that nearly did if not still does irreversibly harm to the "real" Gemini (Protocol).
We do not depend on Google, we merely make the observation that Web search became truly terrible. Even very simple search phrases don't give the "right" (or even remotely sensible) results anymore. See below how Google's debt grew in 9 months, not counting the secret debt in debtland. █
