Something Big is Happening at IBM This Week/Month
Apparently even India has silent layoffs:
This morning and afternoon we showed that many IBM workers in India (not from India with a US visa) had their "last day". It happened yesterday. There are also PIPs.
Some people at IBM (and Red Hat) are panicking because colleagues tell them about RAs, PIPs, "next move", and all sorts of other euphemisms (alternate terms for layoffs). Forced (sometimes impossible) relocation, RTO and other euphemisms have lost their edge and lustre.
Today we see almost 4k requests for this IBM article followed by 3.5k for this and over 3k for one about IBM's latest PIPs, so we guess IBMers try hard to find information which IBM suppresses (instead it paid media to say "quantum" this week).
