Getting Better After 20 Years
And improving this site's signal-to-noise ratio (s/n ratio)
In exactly two months from now we have an anniversary (this site) and next month my wife too has an anniversary. This month it is our wedding anniversary, GNU's anniversary is only days later (it turns 43 this year). This time of the year is busy for us when it comes to anniversaries, but most of them are personal.
Since Friday (August 28th) I've published over 100 blog posts in my personal site as I am trying my best to offload less relevant material and keep Techrights more "on-topic" with a higher s/n ratio. Like RMS, I try to keep my personal views separate over RSS and "classic" mode (I always encourage using RSS readers, not Web browsers, as they make it massively faster and easier to keep abreast of blogs/bloggers and news sites).
If you don't know what RSS readers are, then you're likely missing our on a massive time saver. Unlike slop (chatbots), syndication actually does improve efficiently and Techrights has had an RSS feed since 2006. Exactly two months from now this site is turning 20. We'll prepare something special for that occasion. █
