Matt Mullenweg Got the 'Linus Treatment' or 'RMS Treatment'
3 days ago we wrote in solidarity with Matt Mullenweg and we said more yesterday morning (in the footnotes). The good news is, Mullenweg is back. It does not explain how or why; maybe he belatedly got access to a counsel who recognises his legal rights and then dispatched a firmly worded letter to compel the "ousters" to undo what they had done.
Mullenweg spoke about this in vague terms: "A lot happened in the past 48 hours that we need to sort out, and I hope much of it was a misunderstanding, because I have huge respect and regard for those involved."
Being allowed back into his own thing.
Like Linus Torvalds "came back" or RMS "came back". Back. But "MESSAGE RECEIVED."
They have boundaries. Those are conditional returns, with strings attached, a la Scam Altman a few years ago.
Mullenweg is, as an associate put it, "back, but not in charge any more..."
