Linus Torvalds Defected to Enshittification
My alarm clock from 30+ years ago (pre-enshittification) still works. Linux is amassing defects that have no attribution associated with them.

Sometimes I try to recall which electronic appliance I have that is oldest (and still functional). I don't think I have anything from the 1980s (that still works), but I have many items from the 1990s.
From the 2000s (before 2010)? Almost nothing. I think nobody would deem this a coincidence. It's a design problem. Quality has gone down across a wide spectrum/range of appliances.
The same can be said about clothing items, including shoes (footwear) and not limited to garments.
This is not a matter of "bad luck"; this is a matter of bad quality.
Similarly, when it comes to software, quality is going down because the standards and expectations fell. Managers did this. In the 1990s Linux was 'hand-coded' and now its maker, Linus Torvalds, tells us to deem it 'inevitable' that Linux will just be LLM slop.
Linus Torvalds is betraying a generation of high(er) standards.█
