The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

Webstandard 3.0

This the result of a discussion on debian-private and it seems to be
widely accepted and implemented now.

Webstandard 3.0
---------------
This is a standard to describe locations and URLs to allow an easy interface
between the various webservers and web applications contained in the Debian
Distribution.

1. Cgi-bin executable files are installed in the directory

/usr/lib/cgi-bin/<cgi-bin-name>

and can be referred to as

http://localhost/cgi-bin/<cgi-bin-name>

2. Access to html documents

Html documents for a package are stored in /usr/doc/<package> and can be
referred to as

http://localhost/doc/<package>/<filename>

3. Web Document Root

Web Applications should try to avoid storing files in the Web Document Root.
Instead use the /usr/doc/<package> directory for documents and register the
Web Application via the menu package. If access to the web-root is
unavoidable then use

/var/www

as the Document Root. This might be just a symlink to the location where the
sysadmin has put the real document root.

4. Menus

The menu package supports generating a menu html page. Web Applications can
register themselves with a menu. Example contents of a menu file:

web <Section> <menuid> <Icon> <Description> <html file to be displayed on
clicking on the menu>

Example:

web Apps/Viewers gv none GhostView /usr/doc/gv/gv.html

For more information see the documentation coming with the Debian
menu package. The debmake package contains a template
that can be customized and used to register a menuitem and supports
automatically putting the menu file in the correct location and with the
correct permissions etc.
