The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

And then, if we want to improve the packaging system we will have
to convince RedHat about it (or go using our own version of RPM).
Do we want to loose the freedom to improve our system?

As many people have told here, there's nothing intrinsically wrong
with dpkg, the main problem is that it is a key piece in our
distribution, and should be mantained by a group, not a single
developer. This way there would always be a "backup" mantainer to
fix the bugs if the main one was too busy.
