The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

Packaging HOWTO

There's been some discussion about a user-friendly guide to creating
.debs. I've written such a beast. In simple, non-threatening language it
explains the basics of using debmake to create a package. My target
audience has been the average user who just needs to package up some small
program every now and again. Christoph has given me some input on this
and I think it's really coming along. He also suggested I make it useful
for new Debian maintainers by including sections on applying to be
maintainer, what type of licenses are acceptable, how to upload to master
etc. I am working on this.

Anyway, the work as it stands now can be seen at
http://www.braincells.com/jaldhar/make_package.html.
Please let me know what you think and whether it can be useful.

I've been using Debian for about 9 months now and I'd like to give
something back to the community. I bet there are many other users who
feel this way and they need things to be just a little bit easier in order
to pitch in. In reply to the idea that Debian would not be able to handle
a 1000 new developers I say for the long-term health of the project, it
had better. Just relegating all new packages to contrib until they have
gone through strict QA would be sufficient IMO.
