The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

Extending dpkg to handle other directories

I am currently trying to build a small network where some packages
(less often used, and space-consuming) reside on one central server.
I'd like to use Debian binary packages, if possible.

For example, I want to install everything that's machine-dependent
below /usr/segment (e.g. /usr/segment/bin, /usr/segment/lib, ...)
and everything that's machine-independent below /usr/common, i.e.
/usr/common/share or similar. /usr/segment and /usr/common are
amd-mounted.

Unfortunately, too many packages use hardwired paths to use .deb
packages as-is.

The only thing I can think of is to unpack below /usr/segment
and /usr/common, then use softlinks from /usr . It would be nice
if there was a dpkg option for this.

Comments? Is anybody using anything better?
