The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

IMHO the main problem that there has been with the BoD is one of communication.

This post from Christoph is almost the first evidence I have seen to show that they have done anything at all. This is clearly a problem of communication rather than structure.

Perhaps the board should appoint someone as minute taker, who would get copies of all debian-board mail, and summarise what has been discussed/decided to debian-private. This would keep the developers informed and allow them to provide input on contentious issues, where the board is split.

This person should NOT be on the BoD, and should only communicate with the board on ``Did you really mean to type xyz?'' type questions.

A good example of this is the Hansard reports on proceedings in the House of Commons in the UK. Hansard cleans up what is said by removing verbal stumbles and deleting statements that are later withdrawn, which makes the proceedings look more dignified without changing the intent.

If no one else is up for the ``Hansard'' post, I'll do it.

An alternative to this would be to put all the readers of debian-private on as read-only subscribers to debian-board, but this would probably stifle debate somewhat.

Another alternative would be to have the debian-board discussions published a week or two late on the web pages, with a chance for BoD members to withdraw messages before publication (a withdrawal would need to be treated as though it had never been written).

Cheers, Phil.
