The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

Well, whenever I'm sitting there, upgrading or uninstalling software on
some DOS/Win/95/NT/MacOS/Novell/whatever system, you know what I'm
thinking?

"I wish they used dpkg."

It's true - if you don't *see* the difference, you tend to forget about
it. You tend to take stuff for granted.

It *isn't* a given that upgrades preserve your configurations.
It *isn't* a given that you can easily uninstall a package without leaving
a trace.
It *isn't* a given that the installer warns you about conflicts and
dependencies.

True, some installers do these things. But most don't even seem to dream
of it.

Whatever the deficits of dselect, don't ever give up on dpkg!
