Discussion paper proposal
I'm undecided about if I'll attend the conference. Engagement in the process is moving me from "prob no" to "probably yes." Learning more about what we'll do will motivate me. I would still have to figure out if my 4-year-old's naps, need for my attention, and bedtimes will prevent me from participating regardless of what I want.
Below find my proposal and basic outline for a discussion paper for the conference. I hope it will ultimately do dual duty as a discussion paper for Kentucky Party strategy. I'm writing the draft as I find time, and I'm happy to take push-back, questions, or requests into account as I write it this summer. I'm ok if it is rejected as missing the point of the conference. It's just good to have an excuse to try to articulate this.

Summer so far
Aside from beginning with a bout of borrelia, it's been a nice and uneventful vacation (so far). I couldn't have started a Bullet Journal at a better time, the amount of tasks and bits of info I need to process keep growing and it's been a huge weight off my mind to journal and keep lists. I also can't recommend enough keeping a Field Notes (or something similar) in your pocket at all times for the rando stuff. It even has a ruler on the back page which has come in handy (in inches, so I've scribbled that 1" is ~2.54 centimeters).

fail2ban some more
I kept wondering why the "recidive" jail never found any repeated offenders from the "butlerian-jihad" jail. I think I know why, now. The "recidive" jail uses the following:
failregex = ^%(__prefix_line)s(?:\s*fail2ban\.actions\s*%(__pid_re)s?:\s+)?NOTICE\s+\[(?!%(_jailname)s\])(?:.*)\]\s+Ban\s+<HOST>\s*$
Far to the right, it uses `HOST` and that only matches a single IP number. If you examine the regular expression generated and scroll over far enough to the right, you'll see the named groups `<ip4>` and `<ip6>`.

Launching WikiGem
I started a general wiki, called WikiGem! Anyone can edit, and it's backed by git, so everything is version controlled, and you can see the commit history of the wiki. Reverting commits will come soon.
