Bobby Borisov (LinuxIac) Has Apparently Begun Experimenting With LLM Slop, So We Cannot Trust LinuxIac Anymore
Is Bobby Borisov a Serial Slopper?
Well, sometimes he writes real articles. We have evidence that he does. He definitely wrote many legitimate articles.
However, lately we noticed a change and began scanning. On two machines, using two different and independent LLM scanners (piece-wise), Rianne and I took some recent articles, one at the time (sometimes the same one). We scanned all of it, then portions*. I then assessed the text by hand or manually; it rhymed like a stochastic parrot. Almost all the piece-wise (but not all) scans suggested the intuition was correct; for many portions it always says 100% slop, though there seems to be bits that are done manually, so maybe it's "hybrid"?
It's hard to tell, but we'll ask around. Some journalists who write real articles may know more. Some of them named Borisov specifically as a ripoff artist, who copies the exact same topics that they cover.
So did LinuxIac become a slopfarm? Maybe not yet, but it's getting there. Borisov may be getting addicted to it and once you slop you cannot stop.
Based on what we saw in the past, it's hard for people who stuff their sites with fake text to get back to being honest. Their sites are already drowning in slop, i.e. low s/n ratio. █
