Microsoft is Googlebombing "Linux" While Paying Former News Sites to Publish SPAM

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Aug 01, 2025

Search "Google News" (Gulag Noise) for almost anything Microsoft-related and what will you get? Paid-for spam for Office and Windows in IDG, though now there is even a fake article (they call it "BrandPost", it's not a new thing) that googlebombs "Linux" to sell proprietary Azure with back doors:

A hands-on guide to migrating the Linux estate to Azure cloud

Sponsored article ("BrandPost"). Sponsored by and for Microsoft. It's not a real article.

How much lower will IDG sink? Microsoft is basically buying "the news". This is corruption of the media.

The above is listed as Linux news in "Google News":

Google News: Microsoft

For the second day in a row, moreover, the Web site "The Register MS" is posting "Microsoft sez" (says) pieces:

Kremlin goons caught abusing ISPs to spy on Moscow-based diplomats, Microsoft says

We call it The Register MS because it is compromised. It's run by a Microsofter now.

Then there's also the Serial Slopper (SS) writing fake news about "Linux":

Stuck on Windows 10? 4MLinux 49 is a lightweight Linux-based alternative

Of course it's LLM slop:

This version includes a wide range of updated applications

We've meanwhile also noticed the habitual LLM slop in Linuxiac:

Proton Launches Free, Open Source Authenticator App

Linuxiac did not entirely stop doing this. Most articles in Linuxiac are originals now, but Bobby didn't divorce slop entirely.

The Web is rapidly becoming a pile of trash and pages are "on sale". Corporations buy 'articles' about themselves (example of the Linux Foundation as a facilitator).
