Dealing With Online Pogroms
In 2021, after a very lengthy campaign of defamation against Richard M. Stallman, someone from IBM (working on Microsoft Azure) was running an online petition in Microsoft GitHub. The petition sought to remove Dr. Stallman from all his positions in every place - basically eradicating him and his valued legacy. The person who ran this petition also posted antisemitic tweets, insinuating/hinting at eradication of Jews (they know about the descent of Dr. Stallman). Of course it does not matter to these people if he's an atheist, as it is them who get to define him, irrespective of his views on anything. Later in the same year, after I had written hundreds of articles siding with Dr. Stallman, I received a threatening letter out of the blue. It came from a friend of the petition's manager, who had also participated in this petition's preparation. I ignored that letter, which was followed by more such letters. I ignored those too. They had no merit.
A few years later there was lawfare funded by third parties, targetting my wife as well as me. A letter threat (sent by proxy, an "Assistant at BRETT WILSON LLP" based on The Law Society) sent us both - or each of us individually - a letter on behalf of an American. He later sent another such letter on behalf of an American arrested for repeatedly strangling his girlfriend while he was a Microsoft employee (that second letter was connected to the first). If the intention was to frighten us and cause us to capitulate, it didn't work. In January 2025 they decided to suggest a trial or pre-trial date overlapping/coinciding with the holiest Jewish holiday, knowing our solicitor is Jewish (we'll write a lot more about this one day). On that date they ended up deleting messages of ours, misrepresenting us to the Court, and doing so only minutes after a terror attack on the same Jewish community our solicitor came from. These tasteless actions were also breaches of Civil Procedure Rules (for a number of different reasons we'll cover in the future). These "censorship-as-a-service" 'hired guns' are despicable.
A few weeks ago they were doxing family members of ours, then adding me to site which attracts swatting, vigilante action (worse than doxing [1, 2]).
Upon realising what happened my wife and I ended up reporting the matter to the police. I spoke to 4 people on 4 occasions, culminating in a visit to our home this morning, and an Officer collecting evidence of what had been done to us. We'll escalate with any substantial updates. █
