IBM's CEO Makes No Sense

‘Not AI, pandemic over-hiring is’: IBM CEO Aravind Krishna on what’s really driving tech layoffs

Corporate media keeps repeating nonsense from "Aravind Krishna" (or Arvind) like it's pure gospel. Today some Indian publisher regurgitated "Aravind Krishna" on layoffs being due to ‘not AI, [but] pandemic over-hiring’.

Looking at IBM's own behaviour, it barely hired in the pandemic years and then it still shed off - and continues to shed off - tens of thousands of workers. Considering all the staff 'inherited' by acquisition/s, the shed-off rate is incredibly high.

See, "Aravind Krishna" needn't make any sense, he just needs to parrot some buzzwords, then pay the media to parrot him.

We've put quotes around the name because as far as we know some people go by "Aravind", but not IBM's CEO. So it seems like sloppy journalism, maybe even LLM slop.
