More People Nowadays Say "GNU/Linux"
Over a week ago Akira Urushibata explained, based on Torvalds literature, why the kernel isn't "GNU Linux" (there is GNU Linux-libre) and many people call the whole system just "Linux".
Adrienne G. Thompson replied with: "Why has the HURD not gained traction? Perhaps it's time to revisit development of a kernel by the GNU Project? We have the smartest hackers. What's the problem?"
We still see many distros and even journalists that say "GNU/Linux" - definitely more often than they said (or others said) 1-2 decades ago. In terms of density of either mentions, it would be hard to compare the % of sites that give credit/attribution to GNU. It might be something like 1-to-10. 20 years ago "GNU" almost never got a mention, anywhere. █
