Amutable’s Management and Founders Are 100% Microsoft!

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Jan 30, 2026

Amutable’s founders (from left to right): Christian Brauner, Lennart Poettering, and Chris Kühl.

Earlier today: Be Wary, Amutable is a Microsoft Proxy Created and Run by Microsoft Staff | Amutable is a Microsoft Proxy Like Xamarin, With Some IBM/Red Hat Staff Added for Good Measure

There is a new Xamarin in town. For those who didn't pay attention at the time, Xamarin existed to promote Microsoft (e.g. Mono) inside Linux and was eventually 'rewarded' with an acquisition by Microsoft. Its CEO was rewarded with a CEO title at Microsoft - a title and role that he lost (along with SVP) probably because of our reporting [1, 2]. It hurt him.

Amutable’s mission will be no different (except the people come from Red Hat, Canonical and Microsoft, not Novell and Microsoft). It'll be focused on promoting Microsoft's agenda in everything it does. All of its founders came from Microsoft.

Microsoft reckons these peons will be more "effective" if they seem to be operating independently. They already undermine Free software agenda (in their existing projects, which Microsoft paid them a salary to do).
