After the Next Wave of Microsoft Layoffs Washington State Could be #1 for US Layoffs

Microsoft is building a "snowball" (aggregation effect) and delaying the massive next wave of layoffs; lists of people affected (to be culled) were reportedly compiled even at the end of last year. It's just a question of when Microsoft will "pull the trigger".
Yesterday we saw unsubstantiated rumours (from days ago) about 80,000 Microsoft layoffs on the way, but then again we also saw more moderate estimates of 30,000. We know for sure many will be associated with XBox and we can expect more studios to be shut down (they already brace for that scenario by forming or joining unions, as we covered here days ago).
The numbers to be disclosed by Microsoft won't be real (complete) sums; it's just to save face and control the narrative/story after WARN notices, which may follow or become visible only days later.
Some rumours we saw said that today might be "the day"; if not today, then maybe this week. The time scale is a variable; Microsoft management can change the implementation date, but it'll happen soon. Microsoft Corp shares were down yesterday. █
