Racism and IBM

2021: Imperialistic Blacklist Machines: Racist IBM and Red Hat -- Just Like Donald Trump -- Have Turned Fedora Into an Utterly Racist Project That Blacklists, Shuns and Permanently Bans People Based on Their Nationality Alone

Last week: Red Hat lays off all engineers who are Chinese (like at IBM in 2024)

Earlier today: Red Hat: We Kill People, But Please Obey the CoC or We'll Banish You

Racism and IBM is a difficult subject, especially when one goes back to the 1930s. IBM's still-revered "founding father" was a big fan of Hitler. He also helped Hitler with the "Final Solution".

In more recent days IBMers spoke about how IBM might soon come to an end (after a very long run) and one person has just added: "Well, its “uncanny ability” is called lying. And so long as the top management continues to cook the books, investors will continue to fall for the scam. While they pocket millions."

IBM's hiring tactics and banning of particular nationalities/ethnicities is starting to cost IBM as someone has just pointed out:

See the new post where IBM just paid $17M to settle a DOJ DEI case. Should have been $17B. IBM Pays $17 Million to Resolve Allegations of Discrimination Through Illegal DEI Practices

It links to justice.gov and that's a new page, dated Friday:

IBM Pays $17 Million to Resolve Allegations of Discrimination Through Illegal DEI Practices

There's also a whole new thread discussing it:

That penalty isn't enough to change anything. The matter of hiring and promotions protocols used by IBM is now much more of a problem for the Indian justice department than the American justice department

For sure some people who might themselves be racist speak of "anti-white racism" and we don't want to veer in such a direction.

The simple reality is, at IBM and Red Hat people who are hard-working and proficient are now being fired based on their ethnicity and nationality (or either). This is problematic on many levels.

Is the "I" in IBM "international"?
