WELCOME to The Cyber|Show @ Geminispace!
Indeed, indeed! It's online and ready to go now.

"WELCOME to The Cyber|Show!"

Recently we learned that several of our readers had joined Geminispace, not only as readers. They set up their own capsules. A lot of bot traffic goes through gemini://, but there's a lot of legitimate stuff and in the past week we've served about a million requests. In the past 6.5 days in gemini.techrights.org it's 696,265 requests and in gemini.tuxmachines.org 257,204 with half a day left to go (rotation happens on Sunday mornings).
We hope more people will join the new-web as some call it, or the "thing which comes after the Web."
The Cyber|Show refers to the Web as "oldweb"; In Geminispace, for the time being, it's more like proof of concept.
Andy set things up this past week.
"I'd say the Gemini community could do a bit more to lower the barrier to entry," he told us. "But maybe that's the point :)" (to avoid inviting Serial Sloppers and all sorts of worse abuse).
USENET got mostly 'ruined' as a result of Google Groups 'absorbing' it (after taking Deja News). Then Google Groups abandoned USENET. It's a destructive cycle. Similarly, Google nowadays hijacks the brand "Gemini" and this confuses many people. They soon associate the term with slop. █
