In Techrights, Gemini and HTTP/HTML Are Very Different

Not even maintained by the same people (similar address, same name, but very different things; at one point there was a Tasmania-based capsule as well and au.techrights.org still exists for Australians and has existed for about 4-5 years)

"techrights" is not one place or one person

Having just published Gemini Links, which are different and separate from Daily Links, and having just explained the dissimilarity, one of our team members pointed out more differences that we either overlooked or did not mention. There are pages that are available only in Geminispace but not in HTTP/HTML. "Note that the source code archive is only in the Gemini capsule and not available via HTTP," the member said, pointing to some examples [1, 2]. There are also archives, which are unlike whatever is available in HTTP/HTML.

"Note that the documents, "The Cathedral and the Bazaar", "Halloween I", and "The GNU Manifesto", are only in the Gemini capsule and not available via HTTP," the member added. "These are particularly relevant documents, IMHO."

Some of our members use Gemini, but most do not. Those are very different things. HTTP/HTML was not the starting point of the Gemini capsule, which was always unique, and not just structurally and semantically.

"Note that the semaphore page and the Morse code audio are only via the web site and not part of the Gemini capsule," we were reminded. "Note that the videos are available via the web site and not part of the Gemini capsule."

There are also pages such as this old one which is only in the capsule and was created a very long time ago. Those were never equivalents or mirrors, those are two things that are inherently different and are maintained by different teams.
