Mass Layoffs at SUSE, Over 10% of Staff Gone
6 weeks ago: Red Hat Lost 2,000 Staff (Net Loss)
SUSE is reportedly sacking 10% of its staff, but the real figure is a lot higher because they did what Microsoft had done with so-called 'buyouts', i.e. sought to see how many people would take the sack 'voluntarily'.
Ignore their excuses. That has nothing to do with slop.
20 years ago (November 7th 2006) Novell killed SUSE's reputation - or relationship with the community which included me (since the S.u.S.E. days) - by becoming an ally of Microsoft. Miguel de Icaza had advised Novell's management to do this. █
