Gemini Protocol Turns 5 in 15 Hours
5 years or 60 months (yes! Years! Half a decade already!) have passed since Gemini Protocol was born, giving rise to a "Geminispace" with thousands of capsules (akin to Web sites). It's hardly a "niche".
Geminispace is still very much alive. gemini.techrights.org served 10923 requests yesterday, 8685 the day before that, 7689 two days ago, and 9345 3 days ago.
gemini.tuxmachines.org is newer, so traffic there is lower (3560, 3784, 4733, and 3788 for those same respective days). At the moment in Lupa gemini.techrights.org and gemini.tuxmachines.org are listed at the top, based on number of indexed pages.
It's not clear (yet) whether Solderpunk will write something tomorrow or celebrate in some way. Our Gemini capsule (gemini.techrights.org) started 3.5 years ago, running from home on a Raspberry Pi 4.
Will Geminispace make it to 10? Probably. █
