European Governments Shift Towards Mandating Free Software in the Public Sector
Dutch government officials, however, let Microsoft moles decide on policy
"According to Switzerland’s new “Federal Law on the Use of Electronic Means for the Fulfillment of Government Tasks” (EMBAG)," this report says, "government agencies must use open-source software throughout the public sector." Another report states: "Several European countries are betting on open-source software. In the United States, eh, not so much. In the latest news from across the Atlantic, Switzerland has taken a major step forward with its “Federal Law on the Use of Electronic Means for the Fulfillment of Government Tasks” (EMBAG). This groundbreaking legislation mandates using open-source software (OSS) in the public sector."
Microsoft isn't about technology but about bribery. Microsoft as politics isn't a new problem. More people need to recognise this, seeing what happened to Munich after Microsoft kept bribing people. The Microsofters who commit those crimes are never held accountable, even when Microsoft colleagues blow the whistle. █
