New Richard Stallman Interview Published by Free University of Bozen-Bolzano a Day After His Talk There
Last night Dr. Richard Stallman gave a talk at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and about 2 hours ago the University published an interview in which Stallman said "Free software is software that the users control" (relevant to what we've just published).
We're not seeing any difficult or controversial questions. The questions are: What is free software and why is it important? Can you tell us about the Free Software Movement and the GNU operating system? What are the differences between the Free Software Movement and the Open Source Movement? How can we promote ethical awareness in software development and the use of free software? How can you ensure that a program, along with any modifications made to it, remains free? Given the benefits of free software, why do many people still use non-free software? Regarding freedom: it is a concept that is in danger nowadays. Any thoughts on the matter?
