The Hamburgerization of Sushi
During the final months of the pandemic, one of the few things that allowed me to get out of the routine was ordering food from home. In the town where I live, which is eminently residential, there are a lot of bars and restaurants, and since 2020 the use of ordering food through platforms like JustEat multiplied.
The point is that the years have gone by and, little by little, I've realized that I've been losing my love for eating out.
Before the pandemic, going to a new restaurant, trying exotic food or letting myself be surprised by a menu, was a small thrill that, nowadays, seems to have completely vanished. It makes me very angry, because it's something I really enjoyed... but nowadays I enjoy much more almost anything I make myself or my parents (who cook a lot and very well).

What I Owe to Myself
I've had a lot of reflection time recently (it's the summer holidays after all, kids don't come to clubs as often as they do in school times haha) and I've been thinking about myself and how I could improve myself.
The first is the most obvious and also the hardest, stop being so hard on myself for mistakes. This is something that I've always struggled with, and probably will continue to struggle with until such a time as all becomes dust.

Post from the Rhinetower in Duesseldorf
Hello from the Rhinetower in Düsseldorf/Germany and 165m above the ground.
I'm writing this on my ThinkPad T460s with my OnePlus Nord as a Hotspot.
This little excursion was initially planned for the ROOPHLOCH challenge, but it misses the point of the ONE rule namely being *outdoors*. But because this little journey was planned already I thought I could do a post besides the *real* ROOPHLOCH challenge in september (just a bit earlier), where I'll hopefully come up with something different and of course according to the rules.

smol images
This is how I've landed to reduce image file sizes from the command line. From what I understand gopher and gemini are text based protocols so this space is probably not really appropriate for an inundation of images, but its a handy tool to have for other projects. I will be using the ImageMagick convert tool.

getting started with linux: log 03
I'm pretty much doing all that, except I haven't set up the firewall. I will use the instructions given on the same post. Another chance to use the CLI.

Venturing Into IRC
I've never used IRC before and constantly reading about it here and on the fediverse has me itching to check it out. I grew up in the MSN Messenger era, however, my parents wouldn't let me use it until it was on the tail-end of it's popularity.
