Drawabox Day Three
On Day Two I only did basic markmaking exercises which aren't that interesting to share. Important, to be sure! But not that interesting.

'The Eternal Darkness of the Grief Ridden Mind
If you read my previous post, you know my mom's RV burned down that we were living in.
[...]
The two momentos I have is a cedar rose (she was native and it was a tradition of her tribe to make yhese beautiful little 'roses' out of cedar bark) including a portrait of her from her funeral
and the Sasquatch hoodie she got me one year (she always called me her Harry, she said I was bascially bigfoot, I have a lot of hair and am a big guy lol)

An iMac G4 Thrives!
It's 5am right now; usually if I'm writing this soon after waking up (it's been like an hour and a half, but still), I'm writing in my morning pages (Julia Cameron's prescribed method of journaling from The Artist's Way), so it had me hesitating at the terminal even though I had an idea of what I wanted to write about before I started lol.
First, a life update! Still no job, which hasn't been the most terrible thing (I'd love to be a millionaire and never have to return to work again), but paying the bills and such has been rough. Still, I am where I am and have been able to keep going, so I'm grateful for that. I've been wanting to move to be in person with a very close friend of mine, so I've been applying for jobs where he is and also applying for remote jobs, but there've been no bites.

The programmer's obsession with verson numbers
It's yet another round of hand wringing about software versioning [1]. Woot!
Over the years, I've found that semantic versioning [2] works for me, but only for code code that is to be used in larger projects, like libraries, modules, or classes. Yes, a code base using semantic versioning doesn't always mean the code base follows semantic versioning to the degree that some would like (like any bug fix should automatically update the major version number, because bug fixes could break some code, somewhere [3]). But in my mind, it signals intent, which, sans an extremely obnoxious and overly bureaucratic process, is the best we can expect.
