The latest:

Operating System Market Share Viet Nam

Possible and plausible explanation of this trend is, more users of the Web are buying mobile devices:

Desktop vs Mobile vs Tablet vs Console Market Share Viet Nam: Feb 2009 - Mar 2025

statCounter now sees only 10.9% of Web requests from Vietnam originating from desktops/laptops and about 2/3 of these are recognised as Windows.

Where does that leave Microsoft?

Can Microsoft still demand $500 or more per Windows licence?

No, not really.

There are many other 'Vietnams' out there in the world. It's a really big problem for Microsoft.

Nowadays we see Microsoft aggressively promoting OOXML, hoping it can somehow salvage the other starving cash cow.

We also see LLM slop (likely Microsoft chatbots) spewing out fake 'articles' like this one from yesterday:

7 Weaponized Go Packages Attacking Linux and macOS To Install Hidden Malware Loader

Nobody wrote this. It's just machine-generated SPAM or Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt (FUD). 'Google News' was demoted by us some days ago, seeing that it still gives visibility to such lousy and obvious LLM slop (it is a Serial Slopper).
