Approaching 10,000 Articles/Pages Since Going Static
Trying to silence or derail the site was always a dumb strategy
In September 2023 we got rid of many extremists and changed a lot in the site, as we had already planned for years. Since launching the new site here in the UK we've published nearly 9,200 new pages, so about a month from now it'll reach 10,000.
We've since then filed lawsuits at the High Court [1, 2] (one of the culprits has a British passport and can be held accountable) and our productivity has nearly doubled.
Despite us never adopting a CoC, nowadays trolling in our IRC network is extremely rare. When people do illegal things there (e.g. pushing CP) we report them to the police, which is firmly on our side and recognises the importance of what we do. They don't care about how insane a troll is; if laws are broken, the matter is actionable.
Some time soon we'll celebrate the sister site turning 21, next year Techrights turns 20, and probably next year we'll tell the story of how the police helped us stave off extremely malicious online militants. We're dealing with some truly crazy people, some with clinical (mental) issues and regular visits to mental professionals. Remember that being mentally unfit does not make it OK to strangle women (no excuses exist for that) or commit cybercrimes against my wife. █
